The Avocado Parlor
This breezy clubhouse was built for a health and wellness advocate, Tracy Duhs, who wanted an indoor/outdoor space to host and inspire her work and clients with some grounding and fresh air. Included is a river stone floor, big sliding windows, a luxurious bathroom, space to relax, and a beverage counter for serving up Tracy’s favorite medicine: water! Although it is primarily a ground house, it doesn’t lack in its elevated experience! One staircase climbs the exterior wall to bring visitors onto a rooftop deck with wide open views. Just outside the sliding door is a ladder that climbs up the trunk and through the canopy of a magnificent avocado tree. Awaiting climbers at the top is a circular hangout net, integrated with all of the tree branches, that gives a view far and wide of the city by the ocean. We don’t limit ourselves to structures only in trees. Wherever we build, we aim to bring the outside world in, and inside world out. The Avocado Parlor is a great example of a treehouse that doesn’t need big or burly trees, just the intent to bring nature and wellness into the world we build.
