Pinecone Treehouse

The Pinecone treehouse was a corporate commissioned structure whose intended use was for the purposes of an advertisement campaign.  O2 Treehouse was given nearly full creative autonomy to build the treehouse of our dreams. With intention to rent the structure upon fulfillment of the commercial obligations O2 Treehouse partially underwrote the budget of the structure to ensure there would be no compromise in the artistic vision. The five and a half ton steel and wood geodesic pinecone shaped behemoth comes complete with a skillfully hand-crafted indoor/outdoor off-grid bathroom connected to the treehouse via a wooden catwalk. 

The structure is 22' high by 14' diameter.  It’s suspended between 5 giant redwood trees and hangs over 30' off the ground on the uphill side and 50' off the ground on the down hill side. It has 56 laser cut welded steel diamond forms, wood window frames, and plexiglass windows. The structure has been featured across the world in countless online and print publications including NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt.
